Artist's Description
This is a very cute tiny crab with its tongue sticking out. It's in an aggressive/scared mood, as you can tell from pinchers being raised in back. Oregon is written in a redish color to match the crab.
These little crabs just want to be left alone, but unfortunately when people lift up and put back down rocks while searching for them, many tiny crabs perish and their bodies are left on the beach for seagulls to eat. Education is important while visiting tide pools or rocky beaches searching for crabs or other creatures. Many don't realize the damage they are doing while on vacation. Please be careful with the rocks and where you step to prevent sea life and ecological harm.
Also for your safety - watch the tides. Waves can start coming into tide pool areas fast leaving you wading through water for safety or needing rescued.
